A sad week at work
A dietitian whom I've gotten to know these past couple of weeks suffered the loss of her beloved daughter at the age of 2. We are all called to be here for a period of time. Some short, others shorter. Please read the article below from the Toronto star. Click here

discovering downtown Toronto
I really enjoy walking around the downtown core. Shiny skyscrapers, grand old buildings/churches. It even feels safe walking around alone after 9 pm. Not many cities can say that about their downtown. I get to walk 2 miles every work day...and it's such a soothing experience (and my only exercise right now). Whether its 6 am, and the city is still in slumber, or 5 pm rush hour...I welcome it all.
Luke 11:13
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?

Chocolate dreams...mmm
Well, summer is underway...starting to get the hang of work, and becoming fatigued from work on a weekly basis. Ppl keep asking me if I enjoy work more or being in school more. I've been saying the same thing for the past 5 years: school! The student life is bliss compared to the real world. Not that I don't appreciate the experiences that I'm gaining from being out there. I know how blessed I am to have been given a job right out of school. I'm learning so much, even about things I never thought to be in the field. Sickkids I feel is very much a teaching hospital, and I feel welcomed and looked after on the most part. I definitely see the switch of focus in work. Health care professionals on the most part are anonymous parts of a team. The focus is the patient. That's good, and should be so...it's just that it's certainly an adjustment from being a student (where we were the focus).
May's been a great month, with friends returning home for visits. Though I must say hans, we spent so little time together...but good laughs with dear ol' will.
I loved the Phantom of the Opera...tried to look for tix of Wicked for Cora, but only to find out they've left for NYC. boourns. Had a MDHS chinese reunion with pheebs and others. Great times, these friends are still a little bit miffed at me for 'pretending' to not speak cantonese in grades 11-12. hhaha...I used to be so annoyed with loud chinese ppl, until I realized I was one. :P
